Kings and nobility spent lavisciously and were often in great need of money. Alchemists were employed to make gold for them in order to pay off their debts. In Italy for example, alchemists were also employed to fabricate all sorts of venom to get rid of one’s enemies. Many castles still are full of demons due to their activities. Some alchemists where known to invoke the help of foreign spirits to obtain information. They thought that this spirit world would give them the knowledge required. In some cases it did, and they payed dearly for it. Some even sold their souls out to the devil in order to get these formulae. Needless to say that they all were highly deceived by the devil and the consequence of their action is tht now they are spending an eternity in Hell.
For us Christians, occultism is strictly forbidden terrain. God tells us that : “There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee”(Deut. 18:10-12). God has His reasons for forbidding us to dab into the occult. One of the reasons it is dangerous for us to make use of people who work closely together with the occult realm is, that they operate within the realm of Satan. We all know that Satan hates Christians. Therefore, it is very dangerous for us to get involved in such matters. A good example is King Saul who lost his life after visiting the witch of Endor. God was very angry with him for disobeying His Commandments which He gave them while He was king, but now that he visited this witch He now was even more angry Saul. He lost his kingdom and his life due to his disobedience to God. Maybe by now you do understand why God has strictly forbidden us to get involved in the occult. The occult is Satan’s territory, and once you step into his territory you are in great danger. Satan will lur you into his territory in order to destroy you, nothing more and nothing less.
Let me illustrate what I mean with a personal example. While young, I grew up in South America where the occult is pretty much accepted into society. It is not uncommon for people to visit a witch for good luck or to have her cast on spells on your enemies, and to go to tarot readers or fortune tellers to have your fortune told. Some of these people even sell all kinds of herbs of which they convince you to buy them in order for you to sprinkle these accursed portion around the corners of your home. This of course to keep evil spirits out, or so they claim.. Our family home was built on sacred Indian burial ground. This means that the territory on which the house was built was cursed and hunted. It was not uncommon for us kids to feel from time to time demonic presences or a finger tipping our faces while lying in bed either sleeping or just waking up, or for the light switch to go on and off. Needless to say that we children were terrified. I remember spending many nights sleeping with the lights on. The sad thing though was, that our parents just laughed the situation off as childish imaginations. But they were the lucky ones, for these manifestations always happened to us children.
Children you see, are more susceptible to the spiritual world. Whilst growing up and because everyone did it, including my mother, I went to a fortune teller. From then on I went many more times. I can confess that I was hooked on the things they told me. The strange thing though, whicht happened to me over and over again, was that whilst waiting in the waiting room of these people, all kinds of phenomena started to occur, which scarred the hell out of me. But I wanted my fortune told so badly that I gladly paid the price of fear. Needless to say that the predictions these people gave me about my future always looked bright. That is how they hook you, how Satan hooks you. Please realize that whenever you seek these people out, Satan will give something, but he will ALWAYS demand something in return. In many cases, he will get your soul.
Every time I went to one of such people, within within a time-frame of three months of visiting these people, I would loose my job, my house, my boyfriend (if I had one) and the family relations would be pretty strained.In other words my life instead of becoming better, as they had predicted was instead, growing worse. This started to make me think. I always believed in God but my view of Him was blurred also.I honestly thought that fortune tellers were God's servants. Of course I had not read my Bible, otherwise I would have known better! One of the consequences of going to such people is that a spirit of blindness will enter you and make you spiritual blind. In my case, I was so blinded by Satan due to my involvement in the occult that I thought that God condoned all these bad things which were happening to me. One of the demons of the occult is a demon of blindness, who will do its utmost best to hinder you seeing the truth.
In my case I just could not imagine that God would forbid me go and seek a fortune teller and have my future predicted. I thought that if God made these people he did it for the purpose of letting us know our future. How wrong I was!! The price for my ignorance was very high indeed, for every time I visited these people I would loose everything. The last time I visited such a person I lost all my peace within yet again the time frame of three months. It was now that II started to really realize that something connected with these visits was very wrong. Soon afterwards God spoke very adamantly to me. He told me that what I was doing was very wrong. In fact, He told me that the reason why I was facing all these troubles was due to the fact that I was involved in the occult and that I trusted these people more than Him. It was forbidden for me to go to these people. I repented and vowed never ever to go to these people again. In fact I began to study the subject and was amazed at what I really found.
Occultism is a trap, and it is a sure way to hell. Satan likes to deceive you into thinking that it is all right to dab into his territorium. It is not! It is very very dangerous to do so. Even experimentally can be very dangerous. The only thing you will gain is trouble, big time. You will receive not only trouble but also all kinds of demons, fears, and sometimes even sickness. Other areas which are dangerous for us are Anthroposophy, Esoterism, Gnosticism, etc. Do you know that the knowledge from these movements is also occult? These movements are based on the wisdom of men and not on the wisdom of God, they also attain their wisdom from so called guiding spirits. We as Christians must know that God is the only way to wisdom for us. “Only the LORD give thee wisdom and understanding, and give thee charge concerning Israel, that thou mayest keep the law of the LORD thy God”(1 Chr. 22:12). True and reliable knowledge only comes from God. God gives it to us freely (Jas. 1:5). Knowledge that comes from God will keep us free from bondage, free from fear.
People who tap into the occult are usually plagued by strong fears. Satan rules his kingdom through fear. Many a person who is or was highly involved in the occult will tell you that they were frightened most of the time, plagued by demonic harrasment and appearances. A common trap of the occult is curiosity. Every healthy person has a healthy portion of curiosity. A good example of this curiosity are horror movies. We all have watched them out of sheer curiosity, and we all sat in front of the TV watching them with utter fear, sometimes as in my case screaming, only to regret it afterwards when we could not sleep. Fear is like a trap. Most often we do not even realize what we are opening ourselves up to within the spiritual world. A TV set is a perfect medium for demons to enter the house and start harassing you. That is why Hollywood movies and series are nowadays so filled with occultic themes. It is a sure way into your home and get you trapped!
In my case whenever I viewed such a movie, I not only had recurring nightmares but my dormitory seemed hunted. I perceived all sorts of evil and one morning I really had an encounter with a demon. It was frightful. I think that God’s warning concerning the occult is right in place when He said “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge”( Hos 4:6). In my case I wished I had this knowledge a bit earlier. Many sufferings would have been spared to me if I did have this knowledge sooner, believe me. If you dab in the occult you will suffer. There is a price tag attached to it. It is never ever for free. Keep that in mind. There are many stories out there from people who thought the occult to be innocent and fun who paid a very high price for their involvement and their lack of knowledge!
The occult is no game to play. It is a vast region, wider and more complex than meets the eye. It is not just fortunetelling, Wicca, magick, black magic, talismans and amulets, qabbalah, Freemasonry. It is a more complex and wider territory than you can imagine. Unfortunately nowadays there seems to be a rise of the occult. Occult authors are very popular are being widely. Movies are selling witchcraft as something cool, making this craft very appealing to our youth. Books with all kinds of occult knoweledge, such as Harry Potter are currently being read by our kids. Our society has gone blind to the effects of the occult. The consequences of these sins is that the world is becoming more evil every day. We must be aware that sooner or later we will have to give account of our lives to God on Judgment Day. You will reap what you sowed druing your life time. . Be wise, Jesus!!
