What exactly are chain letters
We all have received them and I think we al have to admit that l at some point in our lives we did pass them on. Why? Simple. Because we did not dare to break the chain. We did not want to receive the curse that is attached to that particualr letter, that's why. The truth is, these chain letters are highly un-ethical, un-biblical and very very unfriendly.You might just ask yourself if you have afflicted yourself with a curse (from God )by participating in sending these accursed letters on. Look at what God has to say if you send curses: “Cursed be he that maketh the blind to wander out of the way. And all the people shall say, Amen..” (Deut 27:18)
Doesn't it make you wonder what you where doing by sending these chain letters?
A couple of years ago we did receive chain letters that spoke of friendship, good luck etc, nowadays these have a more sinister character. Criminals have infiltrated the web and pry on your fear of poverty, bad luck etc and send you chain letters in which they ask you money. If you do not pay all the curses listed on that letter will fall upon you. Easy to conclude that many a victim falls prey to such criminals. However, not only criminals send you these kinds of letters, they can come from friends etc. I have received many a letter containing sinister messages with warnings, which were nothing but curses to scare me as a receiver. Be aware not to fall prey to such letters! You can often recognize them by their titles. Another form of chain letters are the so called pyramid games in which you invest a certain amount of money and by sending that letter on that money will be multiplied to you. These letters all promise you to that if you follow their instruction you will become very rich. Yes indeed, you will become very rich, but in dissapointments, that is which will only give you many headaches and frustrations!
As i said before,I myself have received many such letters from people, amongst them, well meaning Christians who think there is no harm in sending them on, for they are just simple letters and it is all for the fun. Wrong! Unfortunately these people do not take the curses mentioned at the bottom of the letter very seriously. Maybe they do not know their Bible very well, and do not know what God says about passing curses on. Please understand that each letter whether it be a letter speaking of friendship, good luck etc, which always ends up with a warning obliging you to send the letter on is wrong! Do you realize that in sending these letters on you are justifying the makers of them?. “He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the LORD.”(Prov 17:15).
The Bible is very clear on that! God sees that as an abomination and by sending these on you will get a curse from God. I cannot imagine something more horrible than a curse from God. If you do not know what that means, just read the Old Testament, especially Exodus, where God cursed the Egyptians for not allowing His people to move out. One of the reasons why God sees that as an abomination is simple, by passing those chain letters on, you are passing curses on innocent people. Curses are very destructive! Did you know that demons are the carriers of curses? Thus by passing these curses on you are also sending demons to that person.
We as Christians ought to know better and not become frightened by them. Remember that by passing these on, you are committing a heinous sin. “For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD”(Deut 18:12a). Don’t be intimidated by them, they are easily broken! You must make up your mind and delete them every time you receive one.
Stop participating by sending them on. I firmly believe that people who start these chain letters do not do it just for fun. For me, the simple idea of placing curses on a letter and passing these on just for the fun of it makes no sense. The idea behind is very occult and the reason for these chain letters is to bring you into bondage and open doors into the occult. It may sound preposterous to you what I say but i firmly believe it. Sending curses is an activity which belongs to the occultic world. We as Christians are forbidden to send curses, we are summoned to bless those who curse us. (Mt 5:44) What is the reason behind these chain letters but to destroy the recepient of them?
I can find no way to find them innocent. . I think that chain letters are part of Satan’s plan to destroy you by opening doorways for demons to curse you. That is why I think these letters are in some way related to the occult. Have you ever noticed the fear you get when you receive them? Have you read the curses which invoke fear in you when you do not continue their sequence? I have! A letter should make you to rejoice, put a laugh on your face, but it should never make you FEARFUL! That is just plain evil!
I used to fear them when I was not a Christian and I made myself guilty of sending curses. I never gave it a thought that whenever I was passing these on, I was in fact passing the curses on! My turning point came when God spoke to me about it and told me that I was doing a very wrong thing. Thank God for that revelation! Ever since, whenever I receive one, I just break all curses off and delete them.
Let’s take a look at what the Bible says about the passing on of curses
“….cursed be every one that curseth thee, and blessed be he that blesseth thee.” (Gen 27:29b)
God told Abraham that He would curse everyone that would curse Him and His descendants and He would bless everyone that would bless him and his descendants. This promise is for us also, as Gentiles, as new born again Christians under the New Covenant. If we curse people, thus participating in cursing God’s chosen one's (we as Gentiles may call ourselves chosen) we will be cursed. On the other hand if we bless people, we will be blessed by God.. Take it seriously, for God takes it very seriously! Sending curses is a very dangerous thing! You might not see nor feel it, but one day you might be living the outworkings of such a curse!
God explicitlyt tells us that we should not curse anyone that He has not cursed, in fact He t He is the only one who has the right to curse. See for yourself: How shall I curse, whom God hath not cursed? or how shall I defy, whom the LORD hath not defied?. Num 23:8
We are seriously sinning if we participate in passing such kind of letters. Do you by now understand that we as Christians are not allowed to curse? Iit is an evil thing to do. Curses are nothing less than sending harm to others, with the help and invocation of evil spirits. When God puts us under a curse, He is in fact letting Satan create certain damage in our lives. When we sin and walk in disbobedience to God, He curses us in order to bring us back to repentance. Be sure that He will always let you know that you have done wrong in order for you to repent and break those curses over your life.
God likes to bless us. Whe you find yourself under a curse from God remember that He is always in control and He will always give us a way out of those curses. In order not to fall under a curse from God we must know which things we are forbidden to do or to bring on in our homes. A chain letter is an accursed thing. The Bible tells us of such things: “Neither shalt thou bring an abomination into thine house, lest thou be a cursed thing like it: but thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a cursed thing.”( Deut 7:26). If you receive such an accursed thing and you believe it and participate in it, you go outside of God's commandments for you. God will punish you, be sure of that.
Next time you receive such a letter, delete it and pray the prayer and the commandment given you below and you are freed by the curses of that letter. A good idea also is to anoint your computer. Computers are a doorway for sending curses. In this way your home is also protected. Never let fear rule you when you receive such letters, no matter how dangerous the threat. Remember, God is in control and when you obey Him, you are secure. Trust in Him, Jesus is Lord. The victory is alwyas His!
